Teutonic contingent

by

With a total of ten films, both Teutonic productions and co-productions, the German film industry will be particularly well represented at the 56th edition of Locarno. Three co-productions were selected for competition: Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter and Spring by Korea’s Kim Ki-Duk, Khamosh Pani by Pakistani director Saniha Sumar (co-produced by France and Germany) and Los Guantes Magicos, a Franco-German-Argentine co-production directed by Martin Reitman.

The special events scheduled to screen in the Piazza Grande include Swiss-German co-production, My Name is Bach by Dominique Riva, and especially The Miracle of Berne written and directed by Sönke Wortmann, produced by FFF-Bayern in collaboration with 7 Pictures /Sat 1 and Bavaria International and distributed domestically by Senator on 16 October. The film is the story of the mythical 1950s Bayern Munich soccer team as perceived by an 11-year-old boy.
