Young Movie Carinthia set up
Manfred Lukas-Luderer, president of Cine Culture Carinthia and the regional governor, Jörg Haider presented “Young Movie Carinthia”. The project will support young local filmmakers and the first project is a medium-length feature entitled The Search by Katharina Rohrer (the daughter of actress Hannelore Rohrer who also stars in the film). Filming is currently underway in Carinthia, with Walter Groier’s Confida co-producing.
In his introductory speech, Jörg Haider was eager to underline the importance of film and audiovisual production to the region’s economy. Portraying Carinthian locations on film will also attract tourists and advertising. He added that films like the Luderer brothers’ Burnout will be screened in local schools.
Lukas-Luderer said he intended relaunching the Klopeiner See Festival.
