City of Cinema
Århus in Jutland, western Denmark, is home to a new 6000 square metre film production studio facility called Filmby (The City of Cinema). It is scheduled to open its doors for business on 22 August.
Filmby Århus is based on Filmby Copenhagen (home to one of Denmark’s most celebrated film companies, Zentropa, and was built by the West Danish Film Pool film production support fund and the Århus local authorities to attract film and audiovisual productions to western Denmark.
Filmby Århus consists of two studios (respectively 650 msq and 350 msq) for video, audio and multimedia recording, a screening room, a radio station and office space for production, post-production and distribution companies, as well as areas set aside for short and children’s film production.
