FESTIVALS France

Paris-by-moonlight

by

The only festival to be graced in this summer of cancellations is the third edition of Paris au Clair de Lune, scheduled for 6-24 August. Organised by the Town Hall of Paris with Forum des Images, this free-of-charge open-air event is held in the various neighbourhoods of la Ville Lumière and this year’s line up includes 16 features made in the French capital.
The first edition, held in 2001, attracted some 25,000 visitors, and last year that almost doubled to 45,000. This year’s venues include Place des Vosges, the Trocadero, Montmartre, the André Citroën park and the Tuilleries. Paris-by-Moonlight will open with Baz Luhrman’s Moulin Rouge and includes Vincente Minnelli’s An American in Paris, Cédric Klapisch’s Peut- être with Jean-Paul Belmondo and Romain Duris and Les Apprentis with François Cluzet and Guillaume Depardieu. Screenings begin every evening at 21.30 and more information is available on the above listed Forum des Images web site.
