Clavier & Reno together again

- Petillon’s celebrated cartoon characters become flesh-and-blood and travel to Corsica in Enquête corse, scheduled for release in September and directed by Alain Berbérian

After working together on comedy hits Les visiteurs 1&2, Gallic stars Jean Reno and Christian Clavier are headed for the Corsican set of a comic live action entitled Enquête corse. Directed by Alain Berbérian, with a screenplay by Christian Clavier and Michel Delgado, based on the cartoon characters created by the prolific pen of Pétillon.
Enquête corse was published in 2000 and the hero of the piece is a clumsy detective called Jack Palmer, who was created by Pétillon in 1974, who travels to Corsica in order to consign a Last Will and Testament to a man. Unfortunately for him, Det. Palmer has a number of hilarious run-ins with Corsican independence fighters.
Produced by Légende Entreprises with a €20m budget, Enquête corse is counting on the pulling power of the Reno-Clavier partnership, and as if that weren’t enough, the director is Alain Berbérian whose latest feature, Le Boulet sold over 3.1 million tickets in France. The film is scheduled to go into production from 24 September to November and will be released domestically by Gaumont.
