SNC reverts to type

by

Italy's National Film School is to return to its original appellation of Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia (Experimental Film Centre) and will take on the status of a university, with a new centre to be built in Milan on the site of the former Tabacchi factory. The Milan venue will specialise in TV and film commercials.
The new decree was officially approved by the Italian council of ministers on 31 July to the satisfaction of the culture minister, Giuliano Urbani. He was especially pleased about "the elevation of the foundation to a centre of excellence for training and experimental research in the film and audiovisual sector."
The decree also allows the foundation to welcome other investors to its board of administration, thus widening the range of the foundation's didactic activities.
