MIDPOINT TV Launch 2018 to wrap at Sarajevo
by Vladan Petkovic
- Projects from Belgium, the Czech Republic, Germany, Greece and Serbia will be presented at Sarajevo's CineLink Drama and eligible for three awards
The six projects from Belgium, the Czech Republic, Germany, Greece and Serbia (for the list, click here) have been through an intense nine-month training programme that included workshops in Banska Stiavnica in Slovakia in November 2017 and in Plsen in the Czech Republic in April this year.
They’ve been working on their concepts, pilot scripts and season outlines, as well as the partnership and development financial structures for their projects, under the supervision of their core tutors, guest tutors and a producer tutor (for the list of tutors, click here).
The third and final workshop, held as part of the Sarajevo Film Festival and its market dedicated to TV drama content, CineLink Drama, will be focused on polishing their development strategies and, subsequently, widening the networking, marketing and financing options for the projects (for the list of lectures, click here). The workshop will conclude with a pitching session open to industry professionals, followed by curated one-on-one meetings.
Three prizes will be given out at the final event of the workshop: the HBO Europe Award for the best project, which will receive a financial prize of $5,000; the C21 Media Award, which provides the best producer with a one-year subscription to the content of C21 Media; and the Art Department Masterclass Award, inviting a selected project to be picked up as a case project for production design development by a new generation of European art directors, under the supervision of the most significant international professionals.
The calls for submissions for the 2019 edition of TV Launch are now open; more information can be found here.
