(world premiere in the filmmakers of the present section at Locarno Film Festival in 2012) – talks about revenge and redemption. The film received support from the Federal Office of Culture and the Canton of Ticino and will be distributed by the Zurich outfit Xenix.

Atlas follows the story of Allegra, a young woman who just wants to live in the present. Born in Switzerland, surrounded by a picture-perfect landscape, Allegra has three great friends with whom she shares a passion for the mountains. While out climbing, the quartet decides to challenge nature, going beyond their limits in the pursuit of new experiences. Their passion leads them to Morocco and the summit of Atlas.

The lightness of a life that seems to be written in the stars is abruptly interrupted by a tragic event: a bomb explosion in a café – a terrorist attack from which only Allegra comes out unscathed. Once back home, she meets Arad, a young Muslim refugee with whom she forms a love-hate relationship marked by the unforgettable memory of the violence suffered. The outcome will be unexpected, and revenge will give way to unexpected redemption.
