Pääru Oja as Rupi in The Last Ones

Rupi (Pääru Oja), a young Lapp man, estranged from his family of reindeer herders, just wants to save up some cash to leave his remote mining village. To that end, he is willing to toil away at the mine and traffic illegal pills. Meanwhile, he secretly falls in love with his friend's girlfriend, Ritta (Laura Birn), who also attracts the attention of the mine's fearsome owner, nicknamed The Fisherman. This is the plot of Veiko Õunpuu's new feature, The Last Ones, written in tandem with Finnish screenwriters Eero Tammi and Heikki Huttu-Hiltunen.
