The batch of projects selected for the 36th edition of International Film Festival Rotterdam’s co-production market CineMart has been unveiled. The event, which will take place during the IFFR Pro Days, from 27-30 January 2019, will welcome filmmakers from all over the world, in order to continue IFFR’s long-term commitment to supporting cinema hailing from beyond the European borders. As usual, the CineMart will invite filmmakers and producers to pitch their projects to film professionals during both tailored one-to-one meetings and presentations open to all guests.

at Locarno 2015).

This upcoming edition presses on with the event’s new editorial line, which was initiated at last year’s market. Head of IFFR Pro Marit van den Elshout says, “In 2018, we streamlined CineMart and brought the number of selections down in order to ensure they got the most out of their visit to Rotterdam. This was well received by both the filmmakers and the professional CineMart audiences.” Once again this year, the selected projects will also be assigned a personal mentor who will support preparations one month in advance. The projects will vie for the Eurimages Co-Production Development Award, the ARTE Kino International Prize, the Wouter Barendrecht Award and the Filmmore Postproduction Award.

Lastly, in collaboration with VR Days Europe, IFFR Pro has also invited four VR projects to pitch at the IFFR Pro x VR Days event on 29 January.
