, which won the Grand Jury Prize at the Venice Film Festival, has picked up a front-running 12 nominations for the 2019 BAFTAs, including Best Film, Outstanding British Film, Best Director, Best Actress for Olivia Colman (who won the Volpi Cup for Best Actress at Venice for her hilarious portrayal of 18th-century British monarch Queen Anne), and Best Supporting Actress nods for both Emma Stone and Rachel Weisz, who play picaresque nobles battling each other for the attention of the queen. The historical drama has also been nominated for Original Screenplay, Cinematography, Production Design, Costume Design, Make-up and Hair, and Editing.
