A distribution bridge

by

Scandanavia’s first transnational film promotion and distribution commission will see the light of day on 1 October. It unites areas of Denmark and Sweden that are already geographically united by the bridge over the Øresund Straits.
The agency will have a €1m budget – all from private investors, film companies, regional industry support funds and the EU, the Øresund Film Commission’s job will consist in promoting the local film industry.
The film commission covers an area with around 3.5million inhabitants and it will have offices in Copenhagen and Malmö, with two consultants to beef up the area’s international media business profile and create and develop attractive incentives and sweeteners.
To start with the commission will deal with small productions and commercials.
