The Agora Doc Market, the Thessaloniki Documentary Festival's (TDF’s) industry arm, will take place for the 20th time from 2-9 March in Warehouse C of Thessaloniki Port.

Agora is split into several sections and features a particular focus on projects in development. Agora Docs in Progress features ten projects from South-Eastern Europe and the Mediterranean region, which will be presented to sales agents, distributors, producers and festival programmers. This year, the segment features a 50:50 ratio of works directed by women. These projects will be competing for various awards, including post-production services from the 2|35 post-production company, worth €15,000; the MuSou Award for music and sound services, amounting to €3,500; €3,000 in cash from the Greek Film Centre; and, through the new collaboration between TDF and Visions du Réel, the Agora DiP Prize, the winner of which will also secure accreditation and accommodation for the Swiss event in April. The collaboration with Visions du Réel, for 2019-2020, consists of a mutual exchange and screening of six national films in their respective market sections and video libraries. As the winner of the Agora Doc Market will go to Nyon in April, so will the winner of Pitching du Réel take part in next year's Thessaloniki event.

EDN Docs in Thessaloniki, running since 2001 in collaboration with the European Documentary Network, gives documentary professionals the opportunity to have their projects pitched to a panel of international financiers, commissioning editors and representatives of international audiovisual media. The 20 selected projects will be developed over three days and will be presented in the Pitching Forum, taking place on 4 and 5 March. Two prizes are available for the best projects: the ERT Doc on Air Award, consisting of €2,000 and a guaranteed broadcast from the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation, and the newly established MFI Doc Lab Award, consisting of a scholarship and accommodation at the Mediterranean Film Institute's Doc Lab. Again, for the full list of projects, scroll down.

At the Moving Docs Outreach Workshop, taking place from 7-9 March, the 20 Moving Docs 2019 partners will meet to develop, discuss and share best practices for outreach, audience development and impact.

Market Talks Extended: A Practical Guide for Documentary Filmmakers will host three events, with the speakers set to share valuable advice and observations drawn from their own extensive experience in the industry. Said events are a presentation of The City and the City, a project by Syllas Tzoumerkas and Christos Passalis; Documentary Festivals - Let's Talk About Programming; and Greek Documentary Association: The Future of Documentaries in our Region.

Finally, Paulina Tervo, co-CEO of Finnish software company Lyfta, will hold a master class entitled Documentary Media for Global Citizens, about how to reach new audiences and build an income from educational distribution.
