by Adrian Panek emerged triumphant in the 7th Orbit competition. The historical horror flick revolves around a group of Polish children who have survived the concentration camps and will be forced to overcome sheer horror once again. The movie was produced by Balapolis (Poland), Twenty Twenty Vision Filmproduktion (Germany) and House of Netherhorror (Netherlands).

Lastly, an Italian picture prevailed in the Méliès Competition, thus qualifying for the Golden Méliès, which will be handed out by the European Fantastic Film Festivals Federation in Sitges next October. I Am Back [+see also:

by Luca Miniero is an Italian-set adaptation of Timur Vermes’ bestseller Look Who’s Back, which imagined Hitler’s “resurrection”, transporting him through time and space to the present day. Miniero plays with the theme by imagining the return of Mussolini, who discovers an incredible propaganda tool that he can put to use to promote his fascist theories: the television… The film was produced by Italy’s Indiana Production Company.
