film profile], the new comedy by Michela Andreozzi which was written by Andreozzi herself alongside Alberto Manni. Described by the director as a “hair curlers and handguns” film, Good Goals is an action comedy set in the eighties. Inspired by a true story, it sees Ambra Angiolini, Ilenia Pastorelli, Serena Rossi and Silvia D’Amico step into the shoes of four women who improvise as bank robbers. Starring alongside them are Luca Argentero, Stefania Sandrelli and Max Tortora, with Michela Andreozzi also featuring briefly in the cast, as well as Max Vado.
We’re in Gaeta, Italy, and it’s the early eighties. Four women who have reached crisis point are trying to turn their lives around armed with hair curlers and handguns. Anna (Ambra Angiolini) is a single mother with two children to look after and with no stable job to speak of. Maria (Serena Rossi) is a shy woman who’s devoted to the Virgin Mary and victimised by her violent husband. Chicca (Ilenia Pastorelli) and Caterina (Silvia D’Amico), meanwhile, are two diametrically opposed sisters who dream of a better future, far, far away. Strong in the knowledge they have very little to lose, they decide to disguise themselves as men and rob the local bank. But this is only the beginning of a series of reckless actions which Chief of Police Morandi (Luca Argentero) will be called upon to investigate, and the resulting maelstrom will change the course of these four "good girl’s” lives forever.
The photography in the film comes courtesy of Tani Canevari, while Gemma Mascagni heads up costume design. As with Michela’s first work Nine ½ Moons [+see also:
