Agnes and Her Brothers
The director Oskar Roehler is back on set after presenting his Angst at the 2003 Berlinale. Filming on this new work, called Agnes und seine Brüder ("Agnes and her brothers") will be continuing until the end of October and it will be set between Cologne and Berlin. It is produced by X Filme with a contribution of €200,000 from FFF-Bayern.
The actors Moritz Bleibtreu, Herbert Knaup and Martin Weiss have the respective parts of a voyeur, a career politician and a transsexual who becomes a ballerina. These three brothers are all searching for their identities, which are closely linked to their love-hate relationship with their eccentric father. As is his wont, Roehler, will making a generational drama, especially dependent on the work put in by the actors. The production will also involve Filmstiftung NRW, the Berlin-Brandenburg Filmboard and BKM, while the distributor is X Verleih.
