3 Scandi projects for F&ME

Film and Music Entertainment (F&ME), the UK based production company run by Mike Downey and Sam Taylor has three Scandinavian co-productions in the works. Currently shooting in Reykjavik is Fridrik Thor Fridriksson's Niceland, a £2.5m film with Kerry Fox (Intimacy), Gary Lewis (Gangs of New York) and Martin Comston (Sweet Sixteen). The film is co-produced with Iceland's Zik Zak Production, Germany's Tradewind Pictures, Denmark's Nimbus Film and sold by Bavaria Film International.
Also shooting until October in Copenhagen is Strings, an epic fantasy puppet movie directed by Anders R.Klarlund. The Bald Films production from Denmark is co-produced with F&ME, Bob Films, Nordisk Film, Zentropa and Sandrews Metronome.
In post-production with a delivery date set for the end of the month is the Icelandic film Cold Light written and directed by Hilmar Oddsson (Tears of Stone). The film is an Icelandic-UK-German co-production between the Icelandic Film Corporation, F&ME and Lichtblick Produktion.
F&ME just came back from Venice where its film Loving Glances by Srdjan Karanovic was shown in competition.
