The story, written by Nine Antico and Marc Syrigas, revolves around 26-year-old Sophie (Sara Forestier), who lands a temporary contract at a highly specialised publishing house for comic books. Even though she has never been to art school, Sophie yearns to be an artist. Admittedly, she comes in through the back door: she’s not an author yet, but rather a press attaché. At least she’s not a waitress any more, unlike her friend Julia (Laetitia Dosch), a budding actress. However, her break-up with Jean, by whom she’s pregnant, and her return to being a waitress drag her into a vicious “loser’s” circle…

Playlist, which is being produced by Thomas and Mathieu Verhaeghe for Atelier de Production, has been pre-purchased by Ciné+. The shoot in Nantes and Bordeaux is scheduled to take place from 15 July-25 August. The French theatrical release will be handled by KMBO Distribution.
