Kopps Best European film in Montreal

The new comedy by Joseph Fares, Kopps has just won the audience award for Best European Film at the Montreal World Film Festival.
The film has been sold to over 30 territories by Trust Film Sales, and it is the most popular Swedish film of the year with 750,000 admissions. Kopps is the story of a police station that is threatened with closure because of the extrememly low rate of crime in the area. It stars the director’s brother, Fares Fares and Torkel Petersson.
The success of this film follows on the heels of Jalla, Jalla, which was another hit for Joseph Fares. Kopps will soon be released in cinemas in Germany and Italy, and the video premiere in Sweden is set for October 29. It was produced by Anna Anthony for Memfis Film.
