Ole Bull, nationalist violinist

by

The life of Norwegian violinist Ole Bull is to be the subject of a new feature length documentary, which has just been awarded NKr 4.3 million - over half its total budget - from the Norwegian Film Fund.
The film will use historical ‘backstage footage’ from some of Ole Bull’s world tours, and it will be a portrait of the talented musician, who was also a strong nationalist who fought for Norway’s independence and split from Sweden in 1905. Directed by Aslak Aarhus and produced by Ole Bernt Frøshaug, the Visions AS production will be ready for delivery in October 2004, just in time to coincide with Norway’s 100-year jubilee in 2005.
