MIDPOINT showcases nine TV Launch projects at Sarajevo
- The TV projects will have a chance to win the HBO Europe Award, as the web series the Marseille Web Fest Award
After a full series of nine months, MIDPOINT TV Launch will wrap this year’s edition with the third and final workshop (17-22 August) which will be concluded with the Season Finale and will be held during the Sarajevo Film Festival, more precisely, within the framework of its dedicated TV drama co-financing forum CineLink Drama.
Starting from tomorrow, six TV series projects and three web series projects, along with two development executive participants, will finalise their MIDPOINT TV Launch experience. During this workshop, the participating teams will polish their development strategies, be prepared to present the projects and talents within the competitive industry market, and consider their marketing strategies and financing chances, without of course forgetting the important tool of networking.
The results of the third and previous workshops will be showcased at the Season Finale, a tailor-made pitching event, which will be open for industry professionals, followed by curated one-on-one meetings. Furthermore, the best TV series project will have a chance to win the $5,000 HBO Europe Award, while the best web series project will be awarded with the Marseille Web Fest (MWF) Award, which will grant participation in a writing residence during MWF.
Of the parallel events, one highlight is the masterclass with Israeli showrunner, producer, writer and director, and Golden Globe winner Hagai Levi, widely known as the creator of acclaimed series such as In Therapy, The Affair, and Bi Pul, who will share his experience and his new HBO series, Our Boys. A panel discussion will also be held, focusing on short content, and more precisely on the differences between the web series and other forms of storytelling.
