The International Federation of Film Critics has handed its FIPRESCI Award to An Officer and a Spy [+see also:
film profile] by Roman Polanski, which screened in competition at the Venice Film Festival. The Best Film in Orizzonti and the parallel sections was deemed by the International Federation of Film Critics to be White on White [+see also:

Meanwhile, the Filming Italy Award of the National Union of Italian Film Critics went to a film in the Sconfini section, American Skin by Nate Parker, produced by Spike Lee. The Francesco Pasinetti Award for Best Film, handed out by the National Union of Italian Film Journalists, was bestowed upon The Mayor of Rione Sanità [+see also:
