by

The Ciudad de la Luz studios are set to open their doors to films in the first three months of 2004. The announcement has been made by the Economic Adviser for the municipality of Valencia, Gerardo Camps, during the course of a visit to one of the most highly equipped industrial complexes for cinema and audio-productions in Europe.
The La Ciudad de la Luz structure covers more than 800,000 square metres and it was created with a total investment of €270.4m. It will start operations with the film Borgia, inspired by the book of the same name by Mario Puzo and directed by Neil Jordan, who has confirmed that he has bought the rights to the title.
In the meantime the last phase of works is being completed on the first six studios, one of which will be the biggest of its type in Europe.
