The second film by the established prize-winner, Achero Mañas, (who won 25 national and international prizes for his first feature length film, El Bola), Noviembre, has already had an extremely positive reaction, winning the Fipresci Prize at the Toronto Festival.
The story is a mixture of fiction and documentary and in it, the director from Madrid shows a series of misadventures undergone by a group of actors working in a theatrical company. The main roles are played by young Spanish actors who are still somewhat unknown .
Noviembre was awarded for the “humanitarian message and for the quality and reality of the stories affecting the main characters”. It will also be shown in the official competition at the upcoming San Sebastian Festival, as one of the films up for the Golden Conch.
