EXHIBITORS Ireland

First part of UGC Dublin unveiled

by

The first phase of UGC Cinemas‘ €13m investment in its Dublin flagship on Parnell Street has just been inaugurated. It comprises 10 box office points, nine state-of-the-art screens occupying the entire width of the auditoriums from wall to wall, a contemporary café Bar on the first floor, a kid’s party room on the second and a new main entrance.

The second and final phase of the multiplex’s development will be unveiled at the end of November, with the opening of a further eight screens, making the site the biggest cinema in Ireland, with a grand total of 17 screens.
The French UGC group is one of Europe’s leading cinema operators, with 90 theatres across six countries. It now controls 43 cinemas in the UK and Ireland since its purchase of the Virgin Cinemas chain in 1999.
The group’s policy is to offer the most diverse range of films possible (from Hollywood blockbusters to indigenous, independent and foreign language productions), combined with quality screenings and enhanced customer service, with its loyalty scheme (UGC unlimited), which is currently the only scheme of its kind in the UK. More than one million admissions were registered at UGC Dublin last year.
