The SCFC results

by

Nine productions between May and September. These are the remarkable results of the Santiago de Compostela Film Commission which has brought together important national and European productions worth a total of ?878,000 spent in the city. In addition to a TV series, a film for TV, three documentaries, two programmes and filming on an advert, the SCFC has also collaborated on the running, co-ordination and shooting on two feature length films: La promesa directed by Hector Carré starring Carmen Maura, with more than ?540,000 spent in the region, and Romasanta by Paco Plaza, produced by the Filmax group.
SCFC will soon be opening up to a Japanese production, using the famous cathedral in the city as a set for a documentary. This frenetic level of activity looks set to continue in the coming months, with the creation of a website, but above all with the signing of a collaboration agreement with the Galician Audio-Visual Consortium. This organisation receives more than ?928,000 from the group at the Cinema City, whose members include Santiago, San Sebastian, Salamanca and Oporto, which was given by the European Union?s Interreg-III-C programme.
