Support for 23 projects
The regional fund for film production, the Filmstiftung Nordrhein-Westfalen (FNW), has announced it will be supporting 23 new projects, in addition to the new film by Wim Wenders. It will be involved in all stages of these new projects, from the screenplay to the production on the works, business worth a total of €7.7m.
The jewels in the crown of this new package are two animation films: Der kleine Eisbär II ("The Small Polar Bear II"), which is being supported to the tune of €1.3m and the co/production between Germany, China and Luxembourg Little big panda, which will receive funding of €400,000.
The other projects in the pipeline include Maria an Callas ("Maria on Callas") a French-German co-production dedicated to the great Greek singer, directed by Petra Katharina Wagners and starring Götz George, Martina Gedeck and Vadim Glowna, which will receive €950,000 and Süpersex by Thorsten Wacker, about the first phone sex line for Turkish people in Germany, funded with €250,000.
