The director from Almería, who was awarded a special prize for his professional achievements by Canal Sur during the recent Seville European Film Festival, tells the story of Dana, a fifteen-year-old girl who is pregnant and has just escaped from a young offenders’ institution. Javier, her guardian, is willing to help her out but, in exchange, she will have to follow his rules. The Daughter is a production by La Loma Blanca P.C. (Martín Cuenca’s own company) and MOD Producciones, which enjoys the participation of RTVE, Canal Sur and Movistar Plus+, and the financial backing of both ICAA- Government of Spain and Jaén Council. The film will arrive in cinemas in 2020, distributed by Caramel Films. Its international sales will be managed by Film Factory Entertainment.
