, on the island of Fyn and in Sweden. Jensen is known for his dark humour and has over 30 feature credits under his belt; as a screenwriter, he has collaborated with directors such as Susanne Bier, Lone Scherfig, Martin Zandvliet, Tomas Villum Jensen and Kristian Levring. Furthermore, his 1998 effort Election Night was crowned Best Live-action Short Film at the Academy Awards, after he garnered two nominations in the same category in 1996 and 1997.

His fifth feature, penned by the director himself, centres on Markus (played by Mads Mikkelsen), a military man on active duty who has to go home to look after his teenage daughter Mathilde (Andrea Heick Gadeberg) when his wife dies in a tragic train accident. It seems to be plain bad luck, until mathematics geek Otto (Nikolaj Lie Kaas) shows up with his two eccentric colleagues, Lennart (Lars Brygmann) and Emmenthaler (Nicolas Bro). Otto was also a passenger on the wrecked train, and he is convinced that someone must have been behind it. As the clues pile up, it becomes clear to Markus that it might have been a carefully orchestrated assassination, in which his wife ended up being a random casualty.

Some of the confirmed crew members are DoP Kasper Tuxen, set designer Nikolaj Danielsen, composer Jeppe Kaas, costume designer Vibe Knoblauch Hededam, and editors Nicolaj Monberg and Anders Albjerg Christiansen.

Riders of Justice, budgeted at 39 million Danish crowns (circa €5 million), is being produced by Sisse Graum Jørgensen and Sidsel Hybschmann for Denmark’s Zentropa, in co-operation with Sweden’s Film i Väst and Zentropa Sweden. The project is also being supported by the Nordisk Film & TV Fond, the Danish Film Institute, Film Fyn and Creative Europe – MEDIA. Moreover, as part of a recent deal between TV2 Denmark, Nordisk Film and leading quadruple play service provider YouSee, the three partners have also boarded the project, alongside Scandinavian pubcasters YLE and SVT. Nordisk Film Distribution will release the film in Denmark on 25 December 2020, and TrustNordisk will start pre-selling it at the upcoming European Film Market in Berlin.
