Already the author of two horror films, Il bosco fuori and Ubaldo Terzani Horror Show, both of which co-produced by Manetti Bros., Albanesi is drawing inspiration from the works of Tarantino for this his third feature film, which sees a criminal barely released from prison make his way to a mountain chalet to pick up some high-value stolen goods, before holding the owners hostage so as to take the booty for himself.

“We are entering into production with a Tarantino-style action film which boasts an incredible cast and a story featuring an endless succession of twists and turns. I truly believe the time is right for the return of Italian genre films of international ambition”, proclaimed Gianluca Curti, managing director of Minerva Pictures and the film’s co-screenwriter. “This is the second film I’ve produced with Marco Bocci playing the lead [following on from Calibro 9, ed]. Marco is an extraordinary professional and a wonderful actor. The chemistry he creates with Cerlino and Mazzotta will take you by surprise, even if they do beat the living daylights out of each other in the film…”.

A Bunch of Bastards is an Italian-Brazilian co-production produced by Santo Versace and Gianluca Curti on behalf of Minerva Pictures, alongside Rai Cinema, in co-production with Boccato Productions. The film was made with the support of the Lazio Region and is co-funded by the European Union.
