The Argentinian filmmaker, who is best known for being a member of the so-called “New Argentinian Cinema” movement, kicked off his directing career in 1998, with an eight-minute short entitled Nosotros. Some of his most prominent works include his debut feature, The Minder (2006), the Golden Bear hopeful A Mysterious World (2011), the drama Reimon (2014) and his latest documentary, Provincial City (2017).
The plot of The Delinquents, penned in its entirety by the director himself, tells the story of two bank employees, Román and Morán, who at a certain point call into question the routine, everyday lives they lead. One of them finds a solution and commits a crime. Somehow, he succeeds and entrusts his destiny to his partner. This decision will lead to a resounding change in their lives in the hope of achieving a better existence.
Some of the confirmed cast members are Esteban Bigliardi (The Silent Party, A Family Submerged [+see also:

Moreno shared his thoughts on his new project with Cineuropa: “One issue that naturally comes to the fore when looking at this film is the matter of freedom in the face of the mechanical routine imposed by work. Morán dreams up a risky plan to achieve that sense of liberation, even when it implies committing a crime and paying his dues. Román is his accessory. The plan comes off successfully. These two men embody a collective fantasy – namely, to break free from the rigours and obligations of one’s working life, in order to attain a higher existence filled with freedom. Choosing a better life means leaving the city, your job or even your family, and moving to the countryside, the ocean or the mountains, giving in to leisure and ceasing to depend on something or someone. There are both existential and practical matters that make this dream a difficult one: how can we make a living? How can we live without all the things we already have? When should we pursue it?”
The Delinquents is a South American-European co-production being staged by Wanka Cine (Argentina), Rizoma (Argentina), Jaque Producciones (Argentina), Punta Colorada (Brazil), Jirafa (Chile) and Les Films Fauves (Luxembourg), with additional support granted by the Film Fund Luxembourg, the country’s main audiovisual agency. Ezequiel Borovinsky (Al Desierto, The Winter [+see also:

The producers have confirmed that principal photography will take place in two tranches, between the end of March and June, in the city of Buenos Aires and in the mountains of Córdoba. An official release date is yet to be disclosed.
