Standing strong against the virus, Italy’s AGICI sets its sights on new stories

It’s a hugely worrying time for film and audiovisual professionals, given the repercussions the COVID-19 pandemic is currently having on the industry. In Italy, AGICI- the General Association of Independent Film and Audiovisual Industries, alongside other associations in the sector, is pouring all of its resources into proposing measures that might lift film and audiovisual businesses out of the present-day crisis. Meanwhile, independent producers are reacting to this moment of stasis by scheduling a Pitch2Script session, consisting of selective meetings between authors and producers, set to take place on Friday 17 April via Skype.

These Pitch2Script meetings organised by AGICI are aimed at authors wishing to put forward short film, feature film, documentary (lasting at least 52 minutes) or TV series projects in standard formats (50' or 25'), whether fictional or factual. Between 12 March and 23.59 on 29 March 2020, interested parties will be able to send their projects (synopses and project fact sheets) to segreteria@agici.eu. Successful candidates will be notified of their project’s selection by Friday 10 April.

The independent production companies who are in search of new stories are Propaganda Italia, VARGO Film, Casanova Multimedia, PayperMoon Italia, Maremosso, Candy Glass, Macaia Film, Wave Cinema, Black Oaks Pictures, NewGen Entertainment, Polis Film, Small Boss, Jmage Production and Materiali Sonori Cinema. This list is continually updated. Further details on how to participate can be found on the website agici.eu or by sending a message to segreteria@agici.eu.
