The VRrOOm Break Down These Walls Festival is taking place online
- Besides screening new VR films and 3D movies every day, the audience will have the opportunity to meet the creators directly inside VR
Dedicated to the dissemination of artistic performances, live shows, screenings, conferences, exhibitions or monuments’ visits in streaming and in 6DoF, the VRrOOm Social XR cultural hub is designed to allow global audiences to meet in virtual reality and explore virtual universes while interacting with other people and 3D objects in real time.
During the confinement, the new space will open its virtual doors to the public with the Break Down These Walls Festival, an event initiated by VRrOOm and Stereopsia in collaboration with Virtual Worlds to help the public cope with sanitary confinement by taking them to a social space where they will be able to meet other people, watch movies, explore art galleries, or dance together. Besides screening new VR films and 3D movies every day, the audience will have the opportunity to meet the creators directly inside VR on the day their work is showcased, between 4pm and 5pm CEST, to accommodate with most time zones.
Launched on 30 March 2020, the festival aims to give people all around the world the mental escape they crave for; hence, the end date is not set, as it will last until the confinement period ends.
The festival also happens simultaneously on the VRrOOm Social XR cultural hub @ VRChat and the VRrOOm XR Festivals app, offering the audience a programme including one VR film and one 3D movie per day for the duration of the lockdown, enjoyable in 6DoF social XR via PC and PCVR (including Quest + Link) and/or in 3DoF on mobile VR and all types of headsets (excluding Quest).
"XR technology is coming of age, and the possibilities are infinite", according to VRrOOm founder and CEO Louis Cacciuttolo. The VRrOOm universe is already working in 4G and conventional wifi, and accessible through most VR headsets, or directly via PC and laptops in video game mode. 5G will further enhance these experiences, accessible through most VR headsets, or directly via PC and laptops in video game mode. Cacciuttolo adds: "We welcome artists, creative minds, festivals, events and art shows to share their craziest ideas: together, we’ll make your dream come true."
