Napola, a Nazi college

Shooting has just started in Prague on the film Napola, an historical drama directed by Dennis Gansel (The Phantom, Girls on Top), who also wrote the screenplay of the film together with Maggie Peren (Kiss and Run, Ganz und gar). In 1942 two young boys, Friedrich (Max Riemelt) and Albrecht (Tom Schilling) are chosen to attend a "napola", one of the elite colleges founded during the Nazi era. Together they discover the world of friendship and they also have to face up to the difficulties of growing up in one of the toughest times in recent history.

The film wil be produced by Molly von Fürstenberg, Viola Jäger and Harald Kügler for Olga Film, in a co-production with Stehan Gärtner from Seven Pictures, and with support from FFF - Bayern, which has been involved in the project right from the start. The production also involves cooperation from the FFA. The screenplay won a prize for the Best Original Subject at the last edition of the “Lola” awards for German cinema.
