Written by Valérie Zenatti, Mona Achache, Jean Cottin and Christophe Offenstein, the story recounts the odyssey of six Jewish children who, in August 1942, decide to take refuge where no-one will think to look for them: amidst the Louvre Museum artworks hidden in the Château de Chambord. The character played by Camille Cottin was actually inspired by Rose Valand, a conservator at Paris’s Jeu de Paume Museum and a member of the resistance who, for the full duration of the war, spied and documented artwork thefts carried out by Nazi officers.

Produced by Jean Cottin on behalf of Les Films du Cap, Cœurs vaillants is co-produced by Orson Films and Belgian group Scope Pictures. Pre-purchased by Canal+ and Ciné+, the feature film also enjoys the support of the SOFICA companies Cinécapital and Sofitvciné, and the backing of Chambord Estate where filming will continue until 15 September. Distribution in French cinemas will be managed by Bac Films while international sales are entrusted to Other Angle Pictures

For the record, Les Films du Cap are also currently steering Christopher Thompson’s The Butcher's Daughter [+see also:

through post-production.
