The director Neil Jordan has agreed to sit on the jury at the upcoming 4th Kerry Film Festival (October 20-26), partner to Cinedays, the Europe-wide celebration of European films.

will choose the winner of the prestigious Aardmore Studios Best Director Award, which comes with a €10,000 cash prize and access to studio facilities and time at Aardmore Studios.

During ‘Ireland’s Best Short Film Festival’, over 80 short films from nine countries will screen in competition, including works from France, Germany, Spain, England, Serbia, India and the US. Five other prizes will be awarded by various people from the industry: Mark Mulqueen (Irish Film Institute) will give away the Best Documentary Award, Enrique Juncosa (IMMA) the Best Experimental, filmmaker Kirsten Sheridan the Best International Short; Sheamus Smith (retired film classifier) and cinematographer Owen McPolin the Best Irish Short and Cathal Gafney (Brown Bag Films) the Best Animation.
