Thessaloniki’s Agora presents its Works in Progress in a digital format

- Eleven film projects in post-production will be competing for the Eurimages Lab Project Award, while the Agora Lab is being introduced this year

Eleven film projects that are currently in post-production, and which hail from Serbia, Greece, Turkey, Poland, Ukraine and Portugal, will be featured in the Thessaloniki Agora’s Works in Progress section, which this year will unspool online on 10 November. Ten of the films will be seen for the first time by the industry audience, through an up to eight-minute clip and a pitch by the creative teams. In addition, they will be in with a chance of winning one of the Agora Works in Progress post-production awards, the value of which amounts to a total of over €100,000. The main prize, the Eurimages Lab Project Award, comes with maximum support of €50,000, while Greek post-production outfit Graal will provide in-kind services and music company MuSou a Music and Sound Award.

The winners will be selected by the international jury, comprising Dorien van de Pas, head of New Screen NL and the Eurimages representative in the Netherlands; Karina Korenblum, who works in sales and acquisitions at Cercamon/Screenbox; and Greek director-producer Yorgos Zois (Squared Square).

Furthermore, this year, Agora is introducing the Agora Lab, a complementary section to WIP that aims to support the local film industry. The teams behind three selected Greek films have the chance to edit their material under the guidance of the tutors, Antigoni Papantoni (Heretic Outreach), Yiannis Sakaridis (Drama Short Film Festival) and Mira Staleva (Sofia Meetings).
