At the latest meeting of Gremium 1, funding worth more than €2.2 million has been earmarked to support the making of films that have a budget over €800,000. The largest investments will be going to two animation films, namely Der kleine Eisbär II ("The baby polar bear II") produced by Cartoon Film, Berlin which will receive €650,000 and Winnetoons - Der Schatz im Silbersee ("Winnetoons – The treasure of the silver lake") by Animationsstudio Ludewig in Hamburg, which will be given a contribution of €550,000. The romantic comedy Der Liebeswunsch, produced by Al media Pictures GmbH from Munich and starring Nicolette Krebitz, Heino Ferch and Tobias Moretti is to receive €500,000 and there’s a €200,000 conttribution for the Greman-Dutch co-production Sportsmann des Jahrhunderts ("Sportsman of the century”) produced by Neue Impuls Filmproduktion from Hamburg.

In addition there are grants of €30,000 each for a series of screenplays, for example Die Drei??? Und das Geheimnis der Geisterinsel by Studio Hamburg Produktion, Königskinder - Eine wahre Liebe by Arranque Filmproduktion in Hamburg, Mein Held by Sperl Film in Munich and Die Nacht des Don Juan by Kairon Film in Hamburg.

There will also be funding for distribution: €80,000 for Rosenstrasse [+see also:

by Margarethe von Trotta, produced by Studio Hamburg Letterbox amongst others, and distributed by Concorde Filmverleih; €20,000 for Arsenal Film Verleih which is distributing the Swedish production Lilja 4 ever [+see also:

; and €15,000 for b.film radikal in Tubinga, which is distributing A Little Bit of Freedom by Yüksel Yavuz, which was presented at Cannes, 2003.
