The seventh edition of Co-Pro Series is inviting ten promising projects to be presented to a specialised audience, in an entirely online pitching session that will run from 2-5 March. The session is being curated by the Berlinale Co-Production Market, under the direction of Martina Bleis, and is part of the Berlinale Series Market & Conference programme (also 2-5 March).

As at the physical edition, after their pitches, the teams behind the series projects will be able to have one-on-one meetings with interested partners, and at this time, registration for potential co-producers and financiers is still open.

Host country Germany has two projects by well-known directors: a historical drama with a fresh twist, Eldorado KaDeWe, which is being brought along by Julia von Heinz (And Tomorrow the Entire World [+see also:

); and the political thriller Hinterland, which is written and directed by Sven Bohse (Dark Woods). Also, Norway is partaking in proceedings with two projects: the anthology flick This Is Music, written and created by Bjørn Olaf Johannessen and boasting an ensemble of four directors on board (Wim Wenders, David Byrne, Julie Andem and Joachim Trier); and the crime-drama Speed, created and directed by Martin Lund (Psychobitch [+see also:

Central Europe is also represented by two projects: the GDR spy drama Balaton Brigade, directed by acclaimed Hungarian helmer and Berlinale winner Ildikó Enyedi (On Body and Soul [+see also:

), and the MIDPOINT TV Launch-winning project Afterparty, which deals with the friendships among a group of young adult females, penned by Croatian writer Dora Šustic (see the interview).

Another highlight is the Spanish-British drama 58 Seconds, which focuses on medical humanitarian relief agency workers, created by Jeremy Brock and Paul Unwin, both the creators of the series Casualty, which has been airing for the past 35 years. Also standing out are the Dutch-Canadian adaptation of the John Irving novel Until I Find You, written by Kaleena Kiff, and the Irish crime series Richter, written by Anna McPartlin and Michael Bennett, which is set in New Zealand.

Finally, as is the case every year, one project is being brought along in partnership with the Séries Mania Forum, and this time around, it’s the Belgian-French dark comedy series Good People, created by Matthieu Donck, Stéphane Bergmans and Benjamin D'Aoust, that is hoping to find further distribution partners at Co-Pro Series.
