CNC/Film Council agreement

As part of the creation and promotion of European cinema, the public organisations of each EU country working in the industry are becoming ever more focused in their activities. But every market and culture has it’s distinct diversity, something that is seen as indispensable for improving reciprocal understanding. This is the reason why the British Film Council and the Centre National de la Cinématographie - CNC have reached an agreement, which includes an exchange of personnel between the two institutions.

The deal was signed by the two directors, David Kessler and John Woodward (Film Council), on October 4 at the Festival of British Films in Dinard. This latest move is a further step to creating closer links between the two organisations, which was started a few years ago. These efforts have already led to the making of French and British short films, included in the “Short Channel – Manche Courte” section of the festival.
This latest agreement will also allow specialists from the CNC and the Film Council to have a more information on the workings of the two organisations, and to have a better understanding of the changes in the market and in the political sphere. The project will be analysed on an annual basis.
