03/06/2002 - International Co-production Meeting 2002 will take place in Germany from 17-19 June 2002

One of Europe's premiere film foundations, Filmstiftung NRW (North-Rhine Westphalia), has organised the 2nd edition of Made in NRW. It is an interesting opportunity for Europe's producers to get together and talk about all aspects of co-production. Scheduled to take place June 17-19 in Cologne, the event will allow European producers to meet one another, pitch projects and ideas back and forth while setting the bases for future collaboration. Although last year's edition was attended by a few British and German producers, the feeling they took away with them was very positive and there is every indication that this year's edition will be very well-attended by producers from the length and breadth of Europe. The participants are also invited to the start of Cologne's International Film Conference (18-20 June 2002), that will begin with a look at the potential for setting up co-production with eastern Europe and then open up to include a number of issues related more directly to the German film industry, like distribution strategies and the relationship between banks and producers.
