Television and European cinema
The Belgian television networks are participating in the celebration of European cinema proposed by the second edition of Cinedays. Télé Bruxelles, a network particularly sensitive to its European context, has scheduled two French films; Empty Days by Marion Vernoux was broadcast on 11th October, to be followed by Philippe Faucon’s Samia, inspired by the autobiographical novel by Soraya Nini. The entirely non-professional cast brings a realistic quality to this film, and adds further depth to the themes of difference and women’s rights. RTL-TVI and Club RTL will broadcast another French film, I as in Icarus , directed by Henri Verneuil in 1979, starring Yves Montand and Michel Ercheverry. This detective film exposes the political world of the time, through the inquiry into the assassination of a head of state, which leads to the dismantling of a wide-reaching conspiracy. p>
