For another year, the Mediterranean Film Institute (MFI) is launching the MFI Script 2 Film Workshops, remaining focused on the field of training, and specialising particularly in script and project development.

For this year’s iteration, over 210 filmmakers hailing from 39 countries applied to the MFI, and out of these, the institute has selected 25 feature-length scripts, three TV-series scripts, six documentary projects and six trainees without a project, who will be trained in script development and team coaching. Furthermore, the teams behind two more film projects and two documentaries have been selected to work outside the groups as part of a specially tailored platform just for them.

The first session of the 2021 MFI Script 2 Film Workshops will run from 2-16 July on the Greek island of Nisyros, and it will have a hybrid format, as it is running both online and residentially. This year, the residential programme will be open to all countries, in accordance with Greece’s health regulations and protocols.
