Full Circle Lab Nouvelle-Aquitaine announces its selection
- CANNES 2021: A total of six projects will be featured in the inaugural edition of the programme, and will thus participate in the Development Lab and the First Cut Lab
Launched last May by Tatino Films (see the news), the new Full Circle Lab focusing on the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region in France has announced the selection for its first edition. The new development programme is supporting six projects – four feature-film projects will take part in the Development Lab and will benefit from writing support, and consultations on co-production and festival and market access strategy, while two projects at the editing stage will take part in the First Cut Lab and, accompanied by an editing tutor, will receive feedback from industry professionals.
The Full Circle Lab Nouvelle-Aquitaine team, directed by Matthieu Darras, and co-directed by Alexis Hofmann and Julie Marnay, has underlined the fact that the selection focuses on auteurs based in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region or supported by one of the initiative's partner organisations: ALCA's production support, the Biarritz Latin American Festival's Bal Lab and the Poitiers Film Festival's Jump In.
The selection spans various genres, and includes a drama, a musical, a coming-of-age tale and a fantasy film, along with one documentary. Furthermore, half of the projects are French and the other half are international.
The two Development Lab residency sessions will take place from 25-29 August at La Maison Forte in Monbalen and from 22-26 November at Tap-Poitiers. Projects at the editing stage taking part in the First Cut Lab will benefit from sessions held between August and November 2021, with dates chosen according to the needs and schedules of the projects.
The projects will be mentored by screenwriter and script consultant Philippe Barrière (Made in Bangladesh [+see also:
