), La mia ombra è tua is a film about a love story which dates back forty years and which never came to an end. It’s also the story of a journey across Italy undertaken by a strange couple in an old jeep: twenty-five-year-old Emiliano, who has just graduated with honours in Ancient Literature, and gruff, sixty-something writer Vittorio Vezzosi, who has been leading a hermit’s life for years, following the publication of his one and only book, which proved a global hit and has etched itself indelibly into people’s minds.

The pair are headed for Milan’s Eighties and Nineties Market-Fair, on a journey full of fantastically entertaining setbacks which is eagerly followed live on social media thanks to the casual encouragement of an influencer. Indeed, Vezzosi has agreed to give a talk, breaking a silence which has lasted upwards of twenty years. Awaiting them at the fair is the writer’s lost love Milena and an ocean of people eager to hear Vezzosi come to terms with his past, but also with the attitude of this country which is gripped by nostalgia and lost in its own memories.

Shooting on La mia ombra è tua will last seven weeks in all, unfolding between Rome, Bologna, Milan and Cetona (Tuscany). The film will be released in Italian cinemas via 01 Distribution.
