Saralisa Volm ready to make her directorial debut with The Silent Forest

German actress Saralisa Volm, best known for her starring role in Klaus Lemke’s film Finale, is preparing her directorial debut, The Silent Forest [+see also:

. An adaptation of the novel of the same name by Wolfram Fleischhauer, who also wrote the script for the film, the mystery-thriller will revolve around 28-year-old Anja Grimm, who takes up an internship in the part of the Bavarian Forest where her father had disappeared when she was eight years old. Her arrival already prompts an intellectually disabled man to kill his own mother, and her attempts to find out what happened to her father are met with reserve and hostility from the local villagers. She slowly starts to discover something terrible.

) will star as Anja Grimm. Noah Saavedra, August Zirner and Robert Stadlober are also among the cast of the mystery-thriller.

The film is being produced by Germany’s Poison GmbH (Saralisa Volm’s own production company) together with …if Productions (Ingo Fliess). The production was backed by FFF Bayern and by the German Minister of Culture and Media (BKM), while Bayerischer Rundfunk, Hessischer Rundfunk, Saarländischer Rundfunk and Arte are on board as partners for the project.

Its world sales are being handled by US-based sales agent Blue Fox Entertainment, and Alpenrepublik will handle the German release of the film.
