Shooting on We Started Together enters the home straight
- Following on from Free Entry which scooped an award at SXSW in 2015, Yvonne Kerékgyártó delivers a second feature, produced by Együtt Kezdtük Film in co-production with Sparks
Having kicked off in Hungary in early August, filming on We Started Together (Együtt kezdtük) (working title), the second feature film directed by Yvonne Kerékgyártó following on from Free Entry [+see also:

film profile] (which bagged the Cineuropa Prize in Novi Sad in 2014, as well as the Gamechanger Award at Austin’s SXSW in 2015) is almost at an end, bar a few shots to be taken in London.
The cast stars Zoltán Mucsi (especially well-received in 1 and soon to hit cinemas in Daddy and Other Wolves), Anna Pálmai (whom we’ll be seeing in movie theatres in December via Stop My Stepmom!), Éva Kerekes (Comrade Draculich [+see also:
interview: Márk Bodzsár
film profile]), Tamás Jordán (Free Fall [+see also:
film profile]), Simon Szabó (Budapest Heist [+see also:
film profile]), Kati Zsurzs and László Szacsvay, alongside a number of young and talented actors who will be making their big screen debut but whose names are being kept under wraps for now.
Written by Bálint Szentgyörgyi, István O. Boros and Balázs Maruszki, We Started Together (Együtt kezdtük) is a coming-of-age story (told via flashback, ten years later) revolving around Marci and the other members of class 12 - Franciska, Juli, Renato, Ádi, Gigi, Nóri, Benett and Geri – who are finishing high school in 2011. After the graduation dinner, each of them will take a different path. Some will continue their studies, others will enter the world of work…
This feature film is produced by Csaba Pék on behalf of Együtt Kezdtük Film, and by Judit Romwalter for Sparks, with the support of Hungary’s NFI (National Film Institute) and RTL Hungary. The movie was shot in Budapest and at Lake Balaton in Hungary, with Tamás Babos heading up photography. Distribution in Hungarian cinemas is entrusted to InterCom while international sales should be helmed by NFI World Sales.
