A touch of Italian in Brussels
The Royal Belgium Film Library, in collaboration with BOZARcinema and support from Belgacom, will be welcoming the Italian filmmaker, Nanni Moretti, to the Fine Arts Complex in Brussels on October 28. The author of Dear Diary and The Son’s Room will be presenting two medium length films that haven’t been released in Belgium: Il grido d'angoscia dell'uccello predatore : 20 tagli d'Aprile, (a.k.a. “The April Cuts”) showing an edited montage of scenes cut from the film April (1998). The second work being presented is The Last Customer about the last working days of an old chemist shop in New York, prior to it’s permanent closure due to the demolition of the building.
The screenings of both films will be preceded by a meeting with Nanni Moretti and Hugues La Paige from RTBF, while a complete retrospective of Moretti’s works will be shown throughout November, organised by the Royal Film Library at the Film Museum in the Belgium capital.
