The second edition of the FLIGHT - Mostra Internazionale del Cinema di Genova, the film festival dedicated to experimental, independent and daring works, takes place in Genoa, Italy, from 26 September-2 October.
The festival includes 49 films in competition from 25 countries, a retrospective of 11 movies by great Georgian-French director Otar Ioseliani, meetings and master classes. Overall, 80 films will be presented during the festival. The full programme is available here.
"After a very difficult first edition in the middle of the COVID second wave," said artistic director and founder of FLIGHT, director Aleksandr Balagura, "this year, we are very optimistic on our road to making FLIGHT a point of reference for all lovers of cinema as an art form, to all people who, as authors or spectators, as critics or hardcore cinephiles, live for the cinema."
The jury, presided over by experimental film scholar Ester Carla De Miro, will award the Grand Prize dedicated to Eadweard Muybridge and created by the young Italian artist Thomas Gori to one of the films in competition, regardless of the genre, duration or origin.
