From November 5 to December 4, 2003, the Valvert European Nature Film Festival will be featuring a selection of the best films and documentaries from around the world. The event started up in 1994 following an initiative by D-Facto Organisation in collaboration with Valvert, and it aims provide a synthesis between nature and the passion for the cinema. Over the years it has welcomed guests like Jean-Michel Cousteau, Charlotte Rampling, Nicole Garcia, Jean Rochefort, Claudine Brasseur and Yves Paccalet to join in its celebration of the natural world. This year’s official jury is led by the Belgium explorer , and they will be awarding the Crystal Leafs to the best films. The feature length films chosen to take part in the competition include With Beak and Claw by Krystian Marysek (Poland), Awesome Opossum by Lorne Collins (Canada), Cousin Bonobo by Jean-Yves Collet (France), Land of fire: Tales from the World's end by Uwe Müller (Britain) and Wild Rendeer by Asgeir Helgestad (Norway). The event is taking place at the Passage 44 Cinema in Brussels, then it will be transferred to cities like Liegi, Namur, Anversa, Gand and Hasselt.
